Getting ready to paint

Getting ready to paint is a monumental task for me, fraught with silly-but-necessary preparations that free my mind and spirit; the house must be clean, the pets must be peaceful, meals must be pre-planned, and-for some strange, Freudian reason-the windows must be washed...go figure. Anyway, only then can I face a blank canvas and begin my supremely personal, almost painful, creative process. It seems the most significant of my preparatory efforts must be the clean, clear windows.
